My name is Julie. I was born April 23 1979. Throughout grade school and highschool my weight was an issue. I remember a skinny girl looking at my pictures and telling me "did you notice that every year you get bigger and bigger"? Thanks I didn't know. I was 11 years old when I went on my first diet. Then it was diet after diet after diet. I would get excited but when I saw little or no results I would be heartbroken and depressed. Once I even became anorexic with binge eating. I managed to lose weight only to gain it back and more. I was married on October 26 2003, got pregnant and then 3 weeks later my husband left me. I was devastated and this led to me eating with poor choices. When my daughter was born on July 19 2004 I weighed 190 just 3lbs shy of my pre-baby weight. My weight started to climb and climb and climb. I reached 275 the highest I've ever been. I look in the mirror and hate what I see. I saw an TV ad for Barix clinics and called them and booked an appoiment. I had my consult a year ago on Sept 12 2006. I decided to try one more time to lose weight on my own. Again failure. I weighed my options and saw if I want results with long-term benefits then I would have to consider surgery. I started to do research and found Barix specialized in laproscopic gastric bypass surgery (RNY). I found my old information from my consult and found OH website cited. I decided to explore the site and started to see that having this surgery was right for me. I wanted to be there for my daughter and do all the things I've wanted to do with her. I read the different stories and this helped give me the boast I needed. I saw my family doctor and told her what I wanted to do. She too agreed that surgery was my only option left. I was approved on December 11/07 and had my pre-testing on Feb 5/08 and I'm having my sugery on Feb 19/08.
