Hi Sherri, Keep on trying, don't give up!!! Work with the dietician and have everyone one of your doctors submit letters to the insurance co telling them how this will save your life (and cut your health costs to them over that time) Good luck

I am so exhausted with Aetna/US Healthcare - I was denied a 2nd time. They say I have a high enough BMI, but no documentation of physician assisted diets. I have tried everything in the past 7 years and nothing has worked. I finally saw a dietician today who is going to work with me for 3 months and if nothing works, then will recommend the surgery. My PCP refuses to put me on any type of prescription diet loss medication due to my hypertension. I am thinking of asking him to write Aetna a letter requesting that this requirement be waived for me. Aetna says I can appeal a 3rd time to a higher level. It will be looked at by an entirely different set of people. I'm just so tired of going through this!
