8 Months Post-OP
Jan 03, 2008
My official weight this morning was 216. Wow that's down 90lbs from surgery and 140lbs in all.
This has not been the best of months for me, I'm having major food issues and reverting to old habits. The best I can do is dust myself off and start all over again. My new goal is to loose 20 more pounds before my 1 year anniversary. On the bright side I can wear clothing from the misses department which I haven't been able to do for decades (they are XL but I'll take it).
Until next time,
Robin
7 MONTH CHECK-IN
Dec 03, 2007
What an incredibly hard month. I've been at a stall and haven't handled it well. By not handling it well I mean reverting back to old habits like eating carbs, not excercising and beating myself up over not loosing weight. So my offical weight this month is 222 pounds. Down 2lbsfor the month, down 84 lbs from surgery, 100 lbs from initial WLS consult and an overall loss of 134 lbs.
I usually don't post my pre-surgery weight loss but I putting this out down today to validate my success. Losing 134lbs is a great accomplishment and I have to remember the good and not focus on this really bad month I've had.
I probably won't make wonderland before the new year but that's ok I'm still going to try my best.
Until next time.......
6 MONTH UPDATE
Nov 01, 2007
This mornings weight was 224!!! Which means I've lost 82 lbs since my surgery.
I have noticed it's getting harder to loose weight. It might be I've had a carbo crave for the last two weeks that just won't go away, it could be I've been grazing a couple times a week, it could be just a platue. It sure is hard to stay motivated when the scale doesn't go as fast as you want it. On the other hand, people are complementing me right and left. I laugh when I get the did you do something different with your hair, you look great. My answer is yes I lost 80 lbs and colored and highlighted my hair. I used to read all the comments about how you don't recognize yourself in the mirror and laugh, thinking how can you not recognize yourself. Well it's true sometimes I pass a mirror and think who's that. LOL.
I really want to be in wonederland by the New Year but it's going to be a challenge. I need to tell myself to do my best and if I don't make it, it's ok there's always valentine's day.
Until next month
5 Month update!!!!
Oct 02, 2007
My rhuematoid athritis is back and I've started on my medications again. I was hoping that I would stay in remission awhile longer but it didn't happen. It has gotten me down. I can't walk everyday because of the pain and swelling. Somedays it's in my knee, others in my shoulder and other days in my hands. The biggest problem is I can't take my anti-inflamatory/pain medicine everyday like I did before the surgery. I can only take it when the pain is unbearable. Had to take two today.
I need to add more protein and iron to my diet. I had blood work drawn and the numbers were really bad. So I've added a scoop of protein powder every morning and an iron pill every night.
I would love to loose 35 more pounds before the new year, then I can be in onederland. So I'm trying to keep that goal in mind when making my eating choices.
Until next month.
Just a little brain food!!

I saw this on someone's post and thought I'd put it here just to remind myself that I'm doing ok. Sometimes I feel guilty that I'm not losing more weight and see others losing tremendous amounts of weight and feel even more guilty. Which raises another question "Why do I feel so guilty?" Because I was raised on guilt that's why!!! (LOL)

Four Months post op
Aug 28, 2007
We just got back from a beach vacation. I did really well with the eating, not perfect mind you, but I'm proud of myself. Things that changed on this vacation was my energy. I swam, went jet skiing and had fun. We stopped at Busch Gardens on our way home and I rode rides that I wouldn't have ridden 40 lbs ago.
Until next month.......
