My insurance, Aetna PPO, says that I must have 6 months of doctors clinical notes staying that 1) I have lowered my calories 2) must be on a exercise regimen 3) have met with dietian. I have done these but my doctor's notes don't state these exactly. So it will be another 6 months. But I feel that this is what is best for me. I'm still going keep doing what I've been doing. I see my therapist every week and have started protein drinks daily.

Well it's been a long time since I last wrote. Shortly after writing that, we bought a house and my husbands's grandmother moved in with us. Although later she moved out. Living with her was not easy on anyone. I have since had two kids and my weight is at an all time high. I have been working really hard this year, working with a health coach and a therapist. I have finally decided to have this surgery. I have chosen Dr. Oliak and will have the lap rny. I have attended his seminar and they are working on sending out the first letter

Starting the Journey

12/01 I have been debating this surgery for several years now. I've have been trying to lose the weight on my own, hiring personal trainers, working out five days a week. I have made some sucess in changing how I eat, but I haven't been able to loose more that 20 lbs. My pcp has actually suggest gastric bypass surgery to me, so now I'm am looking for doctors. I orginally wanted to have the lab-band procedure but my insurance, Aetna PPO, will only cover the gastric bypass. My husand and I are going to try and fight it, but I am coming to terms with have gastric bypass.
