I have been overweight since I was in my twenty's. I began looking at surgical solutions in early 2003. After a lot of research I decided to have RNY. I picked my surgeon, Timothy Christopher in Pelham, made an appointment, say him on a Tuesday, was approved the same day, had my pre admission testing the following Friday, Surgery was one week to the day after meeting my surgeon for the first time. That was February 16Th 2004. I was out of the hospital the next afternoon, and was back at work that Friday. I weighed 372 pounds. By May 16Th 2004 I  had lost over a hundred pounds. Wow, what a difference. I did have a bleed, but it was due to an ibuprofen I had taken. The weight just flew off. By October 2004 I was 220 pounds. Seriously. I had some kind of superhuman ability to lose weight. After January 2005 I was divorced, 195 pounds and the happiest I have ever been in my life! I managed to keep the weight off until late summer 2009. It began to creep back up. I was eating terrible, depressed, unhappy, man it was awful. By May 2010 I was 265 pounds. I was determined not to get back where I had started. I knew I was eating wrong and not exercising but I couldn't help myself. I made an appointment to see Dr. Bradley Bilton in Tuscaloosa for a revision consult. He agreed to do the revision after he did an EGD and a few other test. I had to do a few classes and was scheduled for August 24Th 2010. I had the revision, RNY to RNY on the 24Th as scheduled. It was even easier than the first time. Wow. I can't believe how lucky I am, and how great I feel. I can't describe it. It has been 9 days since the revision, I have lost twenty pounds, feel better than I have in years, maybe better than the first time. I am DETERMINED to stay the course this time round. I will not fall victim to the ways of old. I have drank nothing but Diet Mt. Dew for the last 6 1/2 years, and that's gone this time, it's Powerade Zero, water, and NOTHING carbonated. I feel this contributed to my pouch stretching . I will drink my protein shakes, will never put another piece of cake, candy, fried, just plan junk food, in my mouth for the rest of my life. I have been really lucky to have retained my health and have a second chance. I will not forget that. EVER!
