I am so glad you got an earlier appointment! I went to the nutritionist yesterday...very informative. Who are you going to see? I just know you'll get an earlier consult date. I have my consult today at 8:30 (about 1 hour away!). I am totally excited and nervous. Good luck with the rest of your appointments, i'll keep you in my thoughts.

Hi Sharon, You are in my thoughts and prayers as you begin the road to surgery and a longer healthier life. I just had my lap. RNY Tuesday May 23,2006 and today is Sunday May28,2006 and I came home Friday afternoon and feel great. I wouldn't take anything for this choice I made to have this surgery and my PCP and my surgeon Dr.Monty Cox are awesome. I thank God for making it all possible and bringing to this point safely. God bless you and I am around if you need anything that I may be able to help you with. Hugs and love from a friend and new loser in North Carolina.

5/12/06 Today called and got an appointment with a nutritionist on June 9, 2006. I asked if they could call me any sooner if there are cancellations so I can get it done sooner. Also, went to my OB/GYN and had them fax over my latest pap and mamogram to the surgeon. I picked up my lab form so I can get my blood work done on Monday. I would have done it today, but it requires a fasting. It is so strange how I have been overweight for so long and then now that I am in the process of doing something, it seems like everything takes so long. I don't know yet if I am going to have a problem with my insurance approving it. My doctor says o.k., but I am BMI of 39.4 and have been as low as a 35 over the past 4 years. I was on a liquid diet and lost a lot of weight for a short period of time to only gain it back. I also have high blood pressure. My mom had a stroke when she was 52 yrs. and is now paralysed. I worry that it will happen to me. I am 45 yrs old.

5/11/06 Well I talked to my PCP this afternoon. She said she sent off the referral to Blue Shield on Monday so I should hear something by next Monday. I will call Dr. Boone's office next Monday and see if he got it. Also was told I need to see a nutrionist. My PCP is getting that set up for me and I should hear back tomorrow on a date for that. I also need to contact my OB/GYN and have them fax over my last pap and mamogram results to Dr. Boone. My PCP also said for me to come by tomorrow morning and pick up a lab slip so I can get the blood work done. I just want a consultation with Dr. Boone ASAP so I can get insurance approval, then a surgery date!!!!
