S Mom -- the meaning behind this -- my name is Tina, but I have a 21 year old step-son who said, "hello s-mom" (thinking he meant "stepmom") and then he said, "super mom" -- my husband cracked up, so it's been a running joke ever since :)
I am 37 years old, the mother of two children and two step-children. I have a WONDERFUL husband and CHILDREN who love me the way I am, but I'm not happy with myself. I've always been bigger than all of my friends; however, when I turned 30, I started going through menopause slowly; therefore, my hormones were "crazy", and I started packing on MORE weight (and fast). I told my doctor that I felt I was going through menopause because of all the symptoms I was having, but she laughed and said I was crazy because I was too young. At the age of 33, I had to have the Thermachoice surgery (where they inflate a balloon inside your uterus to burn the lining), and my doctor came out to talk to my husband and mom after the surgery and told them she had never seen anything like it before. I had the uterus of a menopausal woman! SURPRISE! ;) I have tried everything, like everyone else, to get the weight off, but it's just not happening. I'm tired all of the time and just want my life back for me, my kids, and my husband.
