Livin' My Life Like It's Golden

Nov 27, 2011

So, it's November! A little late posting, but I had to make sure I got it done before the end of the month. So this post is titled Livin' My Life Like It's Golden from the song Golden by Ms. Jill Scott!

November has been interesting. The weight loss is slowing a bit. Not too much but it's kind of noticeable since I weigh everyday and I log my weight on the OH Health Tracker. I can honestly say that my little graph line is still coming down so it's all good.

It's amazing looking at it from the start until now. As of today, I have lost 63 pounds since I started my Journey in March. I have also lost 50 since my Surgery 7-25-11 and I'm celebrating my four month surgiverasary.

I'm definitely feeling good and really excited because I'm going to have to get more new pants! I've been chilling in 14's but still able to wear some 16's. Now all I do is pull them up all day. A belt would help but you know if you have shopped at the Lane Bryant for any length of time, you know good and well 1. they don't typically have belt loops on the dress pants and 2. they don't really have functional belts. Why you ask...the answer is simple chubby girls are not tuck-ers. Well unless you work for somewhere like TSA, but other than that...we are not voluntary tuckers. Nope!

Something exciting was that I went back to New Orleans for my Alumni Homecoming/Reunion at my Alma Mater. I bought this cute black dress with the sequins poppin poppin. It was hot! Also, I went to the MAC counter at Saks and this diva did my make up and brought out my diva. Let me tell you, I swear if I wasn't there and living it I'd swear I was someone else. I looked at my face and it was smaller, my shoulders were smaller, everything was smaller. I was totally the opposite of the song "You Fancy" things were no longer big. But I still kept up the rest of the song with hair done, nails done, everything did. LOL! It was crazy because the comments I received were that I looked the same. I guess that was good since I gained most of the weight after I left, but I felt amazing. Was under 200 and feeling good!

At work it's crazy because people keep saying how much smaller I'm getting. Now I admit I am getting smaller but hearing that all the time will make you feel like you must have been a float in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

I will say that it's definitely been different shopping and I'm going to have to do something about that because I have noticed I'm willing to get stuff because I can fit in it! Like I got this royal blue wool coat. Cute as ever! I got it because it was an XL and I liked the color...but mainly because of the size. I was like OMG it's an X and a L. Not a random number (well either 2 or 3) with an X. I even got this sweater at the gap. It was running big so I got it in a Large! Now, I didn't get the jeans at Macys that were deeply discounted (like $70 jeans for $20) yet. The 14's were kinda big but the 12 just was not gonna do. Don't think I'm not going to go back and get those in a few weeks. Macy's has a sale every week so I'm definitely going to make that happen. Who know's maybe some size 12's for my birthday!

I see Dr. Wood Friday and I can actually say I'm excited about going even though they are going to have to take blood (but I try not to focus on that).

People have mostly been supportive about the change. Some not so much. But as Jill says Hate on Me Hater's and keep it movin!
