Spirithorse
I have been fighting my weight since adolescence. Oh geewiz my lowest adult weight was 117 pounds & my top weight was 283 according to the doctor records. I have not been able to go below 250 for several years now. Somehow the weight keeps finding me again & adding a few more pounds. So, after long contemplation, research, and jumping through loops for the insurance I have had the lap ban done this December 29, 2008. My friend since high school MariPW have been fighting the weight battle over the years. I am so happy she has had the RNY and is having good results. My insurance will not cover any bypass. My daughter is also overweight. I hope she do something positive to loose the extra pounds she is carrying. I have had 3 knee surgeries. So, I am looking forward to get the extra stress off of my knees. Hopefully, the lap ban will help me reach & maintain a healthy weight. I need all of the encouragement & prayers you can spare to help keep me on track. So all of you that have had weight loss surgery or who are planning to have it my prayers & encouragement are with you. Woo Hoo! The weight is coming off slowy but surely. Some days are good & other days are not so good. This is a new way of eating & preparing food. Some days I do good on the diet & other days I slip up. Gosh! The holidays are not even here yet. Last year during the holidays I was on the liquid pre-surgery diet. This year I hope to enjoy the holidays with some modifications. I am going through the receipes to see what I can make into healthier versions.
