Blodgett Campus

"I LOVED my stay!! Everyone we came into contact with was very kind and ready to help in anyway possible!! When I would be up walking, all of the staff would smile, say "hi, keep up the great work", even the cleaning staff!!! The nurses, even ones that weren't mine, were very helpful and caring. The first night after surgery, you don't get a lot of sleep, but that's how it goes with surgery....they have to do vitals, make sure you walk, use the bathroom and get a blood draw. It was kind of okay because I had slept all day anyhow. The 2nd night however, they timed everything just right so I got 4 hours of sleep at a time....timing it with the 3am blood draw. I really appreciated that. I agree that the bed isn't the most comfortable, but I feel that having to sleep on my back, at a 45 degree angle made it worse. When I got home and was able to lay in a bed (propped with pillows), it was more comfortable. I can't speak for any other unit than the Bariatric unit, but because of my stay there this time, I would definately go there again!!! Best inpatient care I have ever seen firsthand (and my husband donated his kidney at U of M, and that was less than stellar). I recommend this hospital 150%!!!!!!!!!"

James Foote

"I attended the seminar hosted by Dr Foote. He was very informative, passionate and patient as he went through all of the different procedures, pros & cons, risks & benefits, details of the before surgery and post surgery expectations. I decided I wanted him to be my surgeon. I only met with him once before surgery, but he made the best of that time. He wanted to make sure that I knew anything and everything there was to know, and answered ALL of my questions. The morning of surgery, he met with me again, making sure that if I had any questions or reservations that they were all addressed. My procedure went flawlessly and I've had no complications and very little pain. Even the day of surgery and the day after, there was minimal pain..just discomfort at one of the incision sites(larger one for removing my stomach). Otherwise, I used very little pain meds. To me, that's a compliment to Dr Foote and Randy PA, who assisted. I would recommend Dr Foote 100 times over."
