Well, hi! My name is Amy and Im 23 years old. Currently living in Texas with my husband and two cats. Ive been overweight all my life and it was never really an issue. I never got made fun of for two reasons. 1) I was a bully. People feared making fun of me. 2) No one could make fun of me worse than I could do myself. Not until my senior year of highschool did it start hitting me that my weight was more than just an appearance issue. One of the hardest days for me was on a trip to Busch Gardens. I am a roller coaster fanatic. But I couldnt pull the roller coaster bar down over me. That hit me hard. It was the first time I was told I couldnt do something because of my weight.
9-03-09 Well, life has changed a lot so I figured I might as well update my story. About a year and a half out from my surgery and I feel amazing. I still have some weight to lose but generally speaking I lead a normal life now. My PCOS has cleared up and for the first time in years my periods are normal again. Its so amazing to no longer be held back by my weight. As for my personal life, Im currently going through a divorce. The split was actually pretty mutual with very few complications so I cant complain. I moved out of TX and currently Im living with friends in the Quad Cities. So many changes in my life and Ive been loving it all.
