100 pounds gone!!!

Well, I can't believe it, 100 pounds gone. The best part about it is it has gone so quickly!!! My life has changed so much in the last few months. We have moved back to Jacksonville, the kids are starting a new school (Jessica and Riley are both in Middle school this year) and I feel as good as I ever have. I didn't realize how OLD the excess weight was making me feel!! I have a child in college and I and turning 40 this year and things are GREAT!!!

I have had a few "firsts" this week. I went to the store and picked a pair of 18 jeans to try on, and they were too big!!! I bought the 16's!!! I also bought a Victoria Secrets Bra ~~~ my first ever! I can't believe I paid $50 for a bra, but it was so worth it being able to carry out that little pink bag that I see so many women walking around the mall with!!
I am so thankful to be doing so great! My bro-in-law is now looking into having the surgery. I will be so glad to have someone to eat with at our big family blow outs.
Busy, busy, busy ~ gotta go, will try to write again soon.

Blood pressure getting better!

Well I am so excited. I went to the Dr. and my blood pressure is getting so much better. I was on 30 mg Lisinopril daily and it was barely controlling it. The day after surgery they moved me to 20 mg and my blood pressure at the Dr. this week was 110/50!!! Amazing! They have now moved me to 10 mg and they say I will be off BP meds by 3 month check up. I have also lost 58.5 lbs total!

Well, it's a great day! Today was Joseph's Senior Prom, and I hit the 50 pound lost mark! I am so excited! I can hardly believe it. I am doing really great too! I am so blessed! So many people have so many problems with this surgery, and I have done so great. I have been able to chop up bits of chicken, that was really good, but for the most part, I am still eating potatos, cottage cheese, scrambled egg, and things that are pretty soft. It's so hard to imagine me not craving PIZZA! I hope I never crave it again! I go to my next Dr. appt on Tuesday, I will write again then! |

Well, I just got back from the Dr. They took out the staples. I was scared to death, but it wasn't too bad. It's great to be able to wear a bra again! lol! Well, for a little update, I have lost 11 pounds since surgery, 38 pounds total. I go back to the Dr. May 22. for my next weigh in. Will be lettin ya know more soon! |

Well, I am so glad I decided to do it! I got pumped full of gas and air with my surgery and the only problem I have had is gas pains. Thank the Lord that is passing, if you know what I mean. I can't wait until the weight starts falling off. My appointment to get my staples out is Monday. I will write another blog then to let you know about my loss amount and an update. |

Well, it's surgery time. I am getting ready to go and I am so excited to begin this new phase of my life. For those of you who don't know, I am having gastric bypass surgery today. I have been fat (sorry Mel, just keeping it real) for so long, but I have been healthy. Well a while back, I developed high blood pressure. That coupled with the fact I am turning 40 this year, I knew something had to happen. I made a call to Dr. Miles in Wilmington shortly before Christmas last year and made my first appt. for January 24. These last 3 months have flown by! I am 31 pounds lighter already, just by changing my eating habits! Aaron has lost 25, Jessica has lost 11, and Riley has lost 10! Joseph lost 20, because he had his tonsils out, not because he changed anything! I will be home tomorrow and will try to keep up this blog. Thanks to everyone for their prayers and thoughts! |
