Barix Clinics - Michigan

"Although I was a bit disappointed in February 2002 when I had my WLS (staff shortage, many nurses/aides not compassionate, too few nurses), it was quite the opposite when I had my hernia surgery in 12/02. I found the staff to be many in numbers and ALL extremely knowledgeable/compassionate and am very pleased at the turn-around I've seen in this area. However, the bad news is that I got a very nasty infection--but my questions to BTC fell on deaf ears when I called them. Finally, 2 weeks later I was seen only to be told that it was "topical" infection. Two days later I was seen again, the wound had to be opened up because of the infection and the nightmare really began. If I had to do it over again, I would have 1) insisted that I be close to the top of the list of surgeries that day, 2) gone to St. Joe's Hospital for the hernia repair. What was to have been 10 days off of work, turned out to be 10 weeks off of work. "

Thomas Batay-Csorba

"My consultation with Dr. Batay-Csorba was in early August of 2001. My impression was that he was very knowledgeble and had much experience with the WLS. He explained the procedure to me in simple terms that a lay person could understand. Although he seemed a bit rushed, I chalked that up to being a very long day or week for him, and was satisfied with the information. 1/30/02: I met with Dr. Batay-Csorba again as it has been almost six months since my initial consultation. I felt VERY comfortable with his rather quiet demeanor and soft, calming voice. And comfort with your surgeon makes the world of difference. "
