3 weeks out

May 19, 2008

hi, i am 3 weeks out now and can finally say i am glad i did this.  i feel healthy again and recovered from the surgery.  the surgery was definitely not a piece of cake (sorry for the metaphor).  it was much harder than i thought.  but now, 3 weeks later, the memories are fading and i am reaping all of the positives.  i have lost 27 pounds (11 were pre-op).  i am thrilled about this.  but i am more thrilled that i have a tool to stop me from overeating.  i have virtually no hunger so my mentality is changing from eating for pleasure to eating to sustain.  i have done no exercise yet, but have promised myself that i will start this week.  anyway, just wanted to update my post for people out there educating themselves about this surgery.  you are free to email me anytime with questions.

hi, and thanks to whoever started this wonderful forum.  there is no way i would have decided to do this surgery without all the incredible information and people here.  i am scheduled for 4/28 for the vsg.  i have been through all the stages of fear, crying, indecisive, and crying again !!!!!!  i am on pre op liquids right now and can now say i am mentally prepared to do this.  i, like everyone else here, have struggled with food issues for a long, long, time.  i have had every food issue disorder out there - you name it!!!  i am tired of identifying myself in this negative way and want so badly to turn my mental identity into a healthy person.  i am positive (well, i guess hopeful is a better word), that with the help of this surgery, i will begin on my healthy journey.  anyway, i will posts updates often so that hopefully i can help others like everyone here has helped me.  http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/wQK8fu4/">
