My story, umm.. I started this journey in Jan. 2006, living at the time in North Carolina, with my hubby and four boys.. Being a military wife I know the in's and out's of moving and knew it could happen at any time... well given that info I took the step and started looking into this surgery, I have been overweight LONG enough (10 years) and I didn't feel like the Sherri I knew was in there, I had been a skinny child and a well formed teenager, I knew how it felt to be pretty and wear the IN clothes and feel good about myself, don't know how I took the turn to become overweight, i guess maybe having my babies and you tell yourself, eat what you want, your eating for two now,,, YEAH well you see where that gets you.. now i am eating for two and not pregnant... OK so back on the subject of the surgery, everything went real quick for me, no health issue's to deal with and so on April 4th 2006 that was my first date, a sinus infection showed up the week before and BLEW that away..LOL... next date was June 13th, well low and behold MILITARY came around and we got orders to Alaska.. NO surgery for me, leaving in August.. Arrived in Alaska.. I got back in the groove and checked into it here, i got a call in NOV., your going to SEattle for surgery,, OK.. do I want to do this or not.. I went checked it out. GOT another date NOv. 17th, well got home got a call a week later, NOPE surgery is now Dec. 1st. i thought to myself, OK GOD you trying to tell me something, i have had 4 dates.. is this right for me??? I really didn't want to be away from my husband anyhow for the surgery and to recover in another state, I didn't want to do anyhow... things turned around in Dec. when I got a letter.. it's approved for you to be done right here in Anchorage.. YIPPY............ Ok so I met another Dr... LOVED HIM... what can i say....... : ) well this DR. had me do the WHOLE NINE yards.... the EKG, chest xray, more labs, ultrsound, upper gi, breathing test..... so now it's the end of Jan. ALL TESTS are done just waiting on the very last of the DR.s to give me the go ahead.... and yes hopefully another date to add to the four before........ let's hope it's the last date.... there's my story and yes i left out quite a bit.. HE HE HE
