"Dr. Marcello is a really nice doctor. He answered all my questions & was very patient with me. He described the surgery to my husband (I had researched it to death!!). I did not get the feeling that he was rushing us. He told me that because my BMI was over 50, I would have better results going with an open RNY.
He addressed the risks very calmly. When I told him about my problem with not being able to handle fat & getting a similar "dumping" syndrome, he felt that my gall bladder should probably be taken out as well. Gall bladder problems run in my family.
The staff at Surgery Specialists is very efficient. They do a great many gastric bypasses and they have a staff member to do each job, plus nurses to answer questions from callers.
He emphasized aftercare - eating & exercising. The actual aftercare program is managed through the Bellin Health Bariatric Center. After surgery, I will have six months free to the Bellin Health Fitness Center. The one by me is state of the art & has a pool as well. I feel very comfortable going here because most people who use this facility are rehabilitating from different things.
So far, he has a very high rating in my book. I will continue this after my surgery."
