Feeling great

Aug 26, 2013

The first 3 weeks after Gastric Bypass was a little hard.  I was weak and had to have blood after surgery. Not because of any problems during surgery, I just had a low blood count.  My sugar spiked to 300 plus after surgery.  I was foggy and tired.  Then slowly it all started to get better and better.  I thought to myself in the beginning what the hell did I do to myself.  Why go to such an extreme to lose weight.  But then I remembered why..I am a single Mom and need to be there for my kid.  The days got better and better.  Now I am full of energy.  My sugar is down to 114.  High Blood pressure cured....Prior to the operation my Blood pressure was high  some days as high as 150 over 100 and that was with meds.  I was on diabetes meds for the past 4 years.  Only a couple of weeks after the surgery I am off all meds.  My blood pressure is now 112 over 70 and my sugar is down to the 100's which I have not seen in years.  Now I know I did the right thing.  My knees feel great and do not hurt.  I go to the gym and enjoy it - well somewhat..lol.  As of today I am down 35 pounds in a month and 7 days. I am enjoying myself and find myself smiling a lot more these days.  I have started to cook at home instead of going out and even make fish.  I never cooked fish in my life.  Now I do.  I am looking forward to what is next.  My brother's friend asked me today what I am I going to do when I am down to 100 something pounds.  I told him "Enjoy LIfe".
