Scope

Apr 03, 2008

I had a scope done on Tuesday and it was horrible. This time they didn't put me to sleep like they did the first time. I hadn't been able to keep foods down for about 5 days so I wasn't feeling very good. The medicine they gave me made me sick. I was dry heaving since there was nothing to throw up. Also he stuck a ballon in my pouch to open up the passage. That gave me lots of air which resulted in very bad gas pains. Worse than when I had surgery. Thank god it only last a hour or so. I was also given meds to help the nausea. Dr. H told me to go back to stage one for a week. I swore up and down I would never drink broth agian! I have tried some cottage cheese this morning since its been three days and it went down well. It didn't get stuck and I didn't feel sick! Wahoo! So I am really happy about that. I am also down 39lbs that goes for another wahoo!

Passage to pouch healed to tight

Mar 31, 2008

I haven't been able to eat anything solid like scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, ground meat without it getting stuck or me throwing up after 3 or 4 bites. I talked to Margie over the weekend and she said that sometimes the passage to the pouch can heal to tight and cause this. So tommorow I go in for a scope so they can fix the prob. I am 4 weeks post op and should be able to eat all the foods in the second stage diet and I am not. I have also caught myself eating foods chewing them and then spitting them out. I have read that it is an eating disorder. It makes me feel better. I feel so depressed and upset that I can't even eat the foods I should be. I told myself that once I am able to eat I have to stop that right away so that it doesn't turn into something bad. On the bright side I am down 33lbs and two sizes. Its been a month and I have been walking an hour 5 times a week. I think this is more of an emotional roller coaster than a physical one. I know once this passage issue gets fixed I will start to feel better.

I hit a plato so soon?

Mar 16, 2008

It hasn't even been two weeks since I had surgery and I have already hit a plato. I haven't lost any weight for the last four days. I have been walking. I am now up to 45 mins on the tread mill at 3.0 with 2.0 incline. It is hard to get all they want you to get in though. Like the 3 cups of protein liquid and 2tbsp of food six times a day. i usually only get it in like 4 or 5. Maybe since I am not getting all I need in its has stopped it? I just hope that it is temporary and I start shedding some pounds soon. So far everything I have ate has sat with me well. I am lucky! Any advice?

I am on my second stage diet!

Mar 11, 2008

Today I had my appt with Dr. Hornbostel and everything is going well. The gas pains are almost gone now. I have lost a total 26lbs since my two week liquid diet. 1 week post op and I feel like I didn't even have surgery. I am walking 30 mins a day and each day I have to add more to the trail I am walking since I am picking up speed. I had 2 tbsp of cream of mushroom, 1 tbsp of choc. pudding, and one tbsp of creamy peanut butter! It felt so good. I really could go for  cheeseburger but that will have to wait!

Tommorow is the day! I have struggled with my two week liquid diet. It so hard when you have to cook for your family! I can honestly say I did the best I could. I lost 9lbs just from doing it. Today I am on clear liquid diet and feeling really hungry. I didn't realize that the slim fast really did help at least for a few hours. I feel like I am in denial that tommorow is my big day. I figured I should be happy but really I just feel numb. I think the thing I am scared about is the pain for one. I am a big baby when it comes to pain. Yes I had a kid but I had an epideral and it worked wonders! I am also scared about the whole sipping thing. I chug water all day long. I probably drink 2 QTs at least a day. so that giong to be a change. I have tried to practice but still think I am drinking too fast. I also really love my water cold. I usually put it in the freezer for a hour or two before drinking it. I heard it hurts when you drink water or any liquid that is too cold. Also what if I get sick all the time? What if I tried just one more diet? Could I finally be succesful? The good things I am looking fwd to are the new clothes! The new look. I have been heavy my whole life and just wonder how I will look. I can't wait to enjoy being out doors, going swimming with my daughter this summer, and fitting on an airplane with out an extra seat belt! Well wish me luck! Prayers are apperciated!
