Never thought I would be so emotional

Apr 08, 2009

Today I went to the Adidas Outlet.  I bought a pair of workout pants and they were an XL.  I can not remember the last time I was able to buy anything from a non-plus size store.  I actually had to sit down in the fitting room when I tried them on and they actually fit.  It was a very emotional experience for me.

It feels great to be able to shop at a "regualar" store and not be relegated to just Lane Bryant.

Today was a happy day for me.

43 Pounds Gone 4ever

Mar 28, 2009

Ok today is March 28, 2009.  I am officially 43 pounds lighter.  I still feel like a fat girl on the inside.  Eating has become more of a chore than a joy.  I have been blessed in that I have not had any issues with dumping or getting sick from any foods that I have eaten.  On thing I try to do is stick close to the plan that was given me by my doctor.  I finally found a ready made protein shake that i dont mind drinking (EAS AdvantEdge).  It is easy and to the point.

I went to a friends wedding  and reception tonight.  I had some spinach salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, and cheese.  OMG, it was sooo good.   Never thought I would actually miss a green salad but I did.

Oh well back in the gym on Monday!  I still dont know what size clothes i wear now but that's allright  at least I know that the clothes I used to wear are WAY too BIG!

23 pounds lighter!

Feb 04, 2009

Today I went for my 3 week post-op visit and all is well.  I have lost a total of 23 pounds and well on my way to skinnydom!  I got the ok to get back in the gym and resume my normal activities!  I am so excited.

My clothes are starting to get too big.  Tonight I was at church and my pants were sooo loose.  I was scared they might fall down.  Time to go and see the alteration lady and get her to help me out a bit.

17 Days Post Op

Jan 31, 2009

I was sitting here thinking about my whole RNY experience and I must admit that is has been very pleasant.  My surgery went smoothly and the hospital stay was awesome.  Each and every nurse ok with the exception of one was very nice and helpful.   I remember them giving my broth and it was fat free and salt free.  You know I didnt even bother to drink that.  I couldnt it taste horrible.  Then one of the other nurses gave me some broth with salt and I was able to drink that with no problem.   Johns Creek hospital gives it patients some very nice robes.  They are waffle weaved and actually fit.   I would suggest this hospital to anyone in the georgia area.

Today I ate some canteloup.  It started off very well but I now know why we have to chew chew chew.  I had a brain fart and popped a pieces of the melon in my mouth and swallowed a piece that was not chewed well.  It got stuck in the middle of my chest.  I thought I was going to die or at least have to go to the hospital to have it plucked out of my chest.  I must have paced the floor for about 30 minutes praying to God to just let it either come back up or go ahead and pass through my pouch.  He finally heard and answered my prayer but then I was scared to eat for the rest of the day.   So If I had any advice to give a newbie it would definitely be to chew the heck out of your food.

I dont have any updates on my weight loss because I refuse to step on the scale.  My friends say they can tell in my face and shoulders that I have lost but i am scared to be disappointed so I will wait until next week when I go for my check up to see what my weight loss is.

Until next week.

2 Days Post-Op

Jan 17, 2009

Wow...I cant believe it is over.  The surgery was uneventful and for lack of a better description, "EASY".  Now is the hard part.  Everything that I have read about the gas being awful is absolutely true.  Last night I could not even talk I was concentrating so hard on walking and trying to move this gas out of my system .  Finally around 12 midnight I had a huge "FART" party.

I am now home and looking forward to my first day of trying to relearn how to eat now.  I am so glad that I was already a gigantic fan of sugar free jello.  Trying to get all that water in is going to talke some work I can already tell but I will do it.  Just found some Orange Sunrise Crystal light and added to my current bottle. MMMMM DELICIOUS.

My mother came in town for a couple of weeks to help me out and can you believe she went to burger king (which didnt really bother me) but then she the nerve to bring in some white cheddar popcorn. OMG  Pure torture.  I told her she could not possibly love me by bringing that SIN into my house.I have been a junk food junkie for years.  Oh well who am I to spoil her fun.

Time for me to hit the sheets for the night.  Talk to you guys tomorrow with another update.

Jan 07, 2009

I finally got my date.  My surgery will be on January 15, 2008.  I am both excited and nervous.  Cant wait to start my new life.  There are still a bunch of questions that i have that I guess will be answered as i go along.  I just hope I dont get that "ashy" look that i see some people with.    If anyone knows what I am talking about and have suggestions of ways to prevent it please feel free to share them with me.

Talk to you all again next week after my surgeryl!
