Good luck to you as you start on this journey to a new, healthier life. I hope all the "surgery angels" swoop down to surround you and protect you. My husband and I both had wls in 2001 and have lost a combined total of 270 lbs, we each have about 50 more to go. Would we do it again? OH, YES!!!! In a second.

Tally, I am wishing you a successful, complication-free surgery and a smooth, quick recovery. I had my open RNY on 12/10/01 and have absolutely NO regrets other than not having done it several years sooner. It is, without a doubt, the best thing I could have done for myself. God bless you as you begin your healthy new life.

Hi Tally, my name is Carol and I am also a patient of Dr. Sieloff's. I have been to my inital consult and I am now waiting for insurance approval. I am 32 yrs old, 5' 3" 215lbs, BMI 37. The Dr. didnt think my BMI of 37 would be a problem getting approved through my insurance. However, I am still waiting, my consult was on Dec. 16. They called and requested a letter from my primary care phy. I have to go and pick it up today and fax it over to Dr. Sieloff's office. How long did you have to wait for approval?
