Day 10 after Sclerotherapy 176lbs

Aug 03, 2009

Feeling much better!!  As far as the tummy.  I feel completely healed.  I'm still taking the medicine but I feel much better.
I do have a little bit of the burgs but it does not hurt anymore.  I haven't been eating so I'm not getting the burning feeling.  I did start the full liquids this weekend which included mashed potatoes.  I had two cups this weekend.  I was only able to eat a couple of spoonfuls at a time but was able to finish it before the day was up.
I'm not hungry don't have a desire to eat.  As a matter of fact.  I'm afraid to eat because I don't want to stretch my pouch.
I did eat a couple of crackers just to put something in my tummy and try to get some energy.  I moved the crackers out of my room today so that I wouldn't eat any at night.  I have been eating through out the night for at least a year now.
The last time I weighed I was 176lbs.  I'll run downstairs today to see how much I've gone down this weekend.
I can tell the difference in my tummy area.  Not my thighs and butt yet.  My pants do fit a little bit differently in my pants though.
I had yogurt for lunch today and it made me burp a little and did cause a little discomfort in my back, but it didn't last long.  Still burping.

Day 4 after Sclerotherapy

Jul 28, 2009

Day 4 was yesterday and I went back to work.  not too bad a day actually.  I just didn't have much energy.  I took the stairs 2 flights and was completely out of breathe.  When i saw the security officer he insisted that something was wrong.  I told him that I was ok, but he kept at it until I told him I had surgery last Friday.  He said I could tell.  So I think a look a little pale and being out of breathe didn't help.  But on with the day.  I didn't eat anything, except two crackers and hour apart.  The Jello, makes my tummy hurt so I don't like eating it.  Shar, Allyson, and Eddie, came and had lunch with me.  That was sweet.  My co-workers were happy to see me back since I was out Friday and Monday.  Well I did go down and weight my self and it seems that I am down 10.lbs already.  I was 189 before the surgery and am at 178 today.  I'll go back in today to check my weight.
Now I've been really gassy and lots of burbs, they don't hurt as much but they are still a little uncomfortable my tummy is still a little sore but not too bad.  I really feel it when I get up in the morning.
Now last night I was really gas and kept having this burning feeling below my tommy, and then a bm, and it felt like I was dumping. OMG! But once it was over it was over.  I felt much better.  I finally went to sleep.
Oh and I've been getting really hot at night.  Not sure why but I really needed to have the fan on.

Day 3 after Sclerotherapy

Jul 27, 2009

I'm feeling 80% today.  I did talk to the doctors office, and was told that the burbing will stop after a few days...Lucky me.  I haven't been doing much I did get up and clean the house. I can do more but I'm working from home so I'm just hanging out in my room to do that.  I am going to work .  My friend and family are here and everyone comes in with food.  Sandra came in with fried chicken from churches.  That stayed on my mind.  I wanted some.  Then my cousin Allyson came in with a big mac and fries from mcdonalds, I wanted some of that too.  I wondered if it having the surgery was the right thing for me.  It is.  Food is important and I love good food, but being healthy and keeping the fat off is more important.  besides once I'm full I'm over it.  I ate my jello and my chicken soup and kept it moving.  It takes a little bit to get the liquid down. About 3 hours to get about 4 ounces in.  But next week I'll start the protien shakes so that I can get some energy.  I am also drinking Welches White grape peach juice diluted with water.  It's pretty good and goes down ok.

5pm
Lucky me, my friend Kelly came over with steaks and hotdogs and hamburgers and chicken to throw on the grill.  Eddie my fiance is loving it!  He's being spoiled rotten!  So not fair.  But I'm eating my chicken broth wo ho!

Day 2 after Sclerotherapy

Jul 26, 2009

I'm feeling pretty good today.  My stoma is not giving me any problems.  I do have this re-occuring feeling like I am about to throw up, but it's not as bad as it was yesterday.  It feels like maybe a hickup now.  Everytime I move, it happens. And I have  alot of gas. But I'm able to eat more jello than I was able to eat yesterday. I was given a prescription for loritab elixer and a medicine that coats my tummy to prevent ulsers called carafate.  It was pretty expensive too.  I had to pay 62 after the insurance company paid it's part.  But it must be important so I'm taking it.

Sclerotherapy is complete

Jul 25, 2009

I had my surgery by Dr. Duncan on Friday and I guess the hardest part was waiting.  I got there at 8am and didn't leave until 4:30.  I think I finally had the surgery at around 2 or so.
When I firts arrived they had me change into a hospital gown, stuck an I.V. in my arm and laid me under a sheet and a blanket..  Several hours later they moved me and the other patients to another hospital where the procedure was finally done. After being there for an hour, a second bag of fluides and a trip the restroom they finally took me back to prep me for surgery.
The anesthesiologist helped me onto a stretcher and gave me some oxygen. About ten minutes later I was wheeled into the surgical room.  I whistled out to my family to let them know I was going in.   There was a machine being hooked up that had a long tube with a camera at the end of it.  Also in the room were biiiig lights and a monitor so that you could see what was displayed from the camera.  As the nurse confirmed who I was and the doctor was confirmed of the procedure I was having done, another nurse turned up the oxygen.  The doctor had me lay on my side and I felt the anestesia going into my arm.  IT BURNED.  I grabbed my an said "It's burning"  the doctors say it's just going to be little burn. No!  It was a big burn, but it only lasted a few seconds.  I was up long enough for him to put a little green tube in my mouth, "to protect my teeth" is what is he told me.  He put it in my mouth and wrapped a green band around my head and I was OUT!
When I woke up I was in the recovery room and the nurse was waking me up.  I started coughing and the nurse used a tube to suck up the flem, that lasted for about 5 minutes.  I felt a little graugy, my throat was burning from the oxygen (i guess), my tummy felt heavy and sore.  The nurse asked me my pain level 1 to 10, 10 being the worst, I told her a 5, she gave me a pump of medicine.  I kept caughing and she finally just gave me to the tube to suck out the flem.  Another 10 minutes pass and she asks me my level of pain.  I told her 5 and she gave me another pump of medicine.  I immediately started feeling better.  She told me to take deeper breathes, that it would help me wake up.  Finally she took the oxygen mask off and I could keep my eyes open.  She takes me out to be with my family.  After hanging out with them for a moment, I went to the rest room and felt like I was going to throw up.  She gave me medicine for the nasea and took away the apple juice and gave me water instead.  I was able to drink it and hold it down so she brought me my clothes, I got dressed and she roled me out to my car!!!

Sclerotherapy on July 24

Jul 20, 2009

Eating Chocolate, sugars, soda's, crackers, pizza, pasta!  Now I'm back to square 5, too close to square one.  I'm glad for the second chance and looking back on the post, I see what got me back to this square. I've gained about 30lbs eating WHATEVER i could especially since it didn't hurt.  But that was my problem.  I took for granted the fact that there were no significant problems eating the above even though they were small amounts.  but I guess I built a tolerence for the dumping.  I still get it, but it wasn't bad enough i guess.  So here goes!  Wish me luck

8 months 170 165lbs Loss: 60 - 65
I still feel great!! My weight is flucuating a bit for the past two months. Gain and loss 5lbs.
I can eat pretty much anything that i want, chocolate, potatoes, pure sugar, cake icing, chicken, pork beef. Of course I'm only eating a little of these Items but I can eat them and they don't make me sick at all. I don't each much of the sweet stuff, but when I want to has a little something I do. 2 weeks ago I had a really bad tummy ache. Each day my tummy would just bubble and burn, no matter what I put in there. I tried antiacids, mylicon drops, galvascon, water, soda, potatoes, anything and everything that I could think of, but it would not go away!!! This kept up for about a week, I would just burp and burp, stayed full of gas. It had me bent over, I couldn't sleep, couldn't walk, I was miserable. We had to go out of town for the weekend an The last night that I was there, I drank some coffee, I don't know if it had anything to do with it, but I woke up feeling brand new. I didn't know where it came from and why it stayed!!!!!
Funny thing is I was taking a tylonol last night and swallowed a big gulp of air, and there it was that burning burping, bent over feeling again. I stood on my head, walked around, jumped up down, drunk a sprited, and finally went to sleep, when I woke up I had gas, but i felt so much better. I don't know what it is but when I have my next checkup I will mention it to the doctor. Today I feel good, I'm a little gassy, with a few burps but I'm ok. Love life has not increased, but the men are NICE!!! I love the attention, but it makes me weary of the people I meet. People are so shallow, I'm begining to think that everyone is and that they are good people, I just don't want to have to go through the motion of getting them out of that habit.

Mar 24, 2005

I had a blast last night. I'm down 45lbs and we had RR Thursdays at Center court. The #1 Stunnas came by to visit and I was the center of attention. I got so many compliments on how much I lost. I wore a pair of jeans that I stole from my sister (size 11 - how crazy is that, from a 22) and a cute pink speghetti strap to that worked my nanas!! I was gorgeous. I felt like a princess, I've dreamed of days like this and it's a trip to feel this way. I love me and have always loved me but the attention was awesome. But it makes me see how people are these are the same people who just joked around and had fun with me, but now they want to call me and hang out with me. "Shallow Asses" But it's all good and I love the new me!!! Food I'm still not able to eat a whole sandwich, I can however eat about half of it. Bread makes me sleepy and so does a lot of pasta and so do beans. I'm getting in all my vitamins, it's time to purchase some more multivitamins, i'm taking flinstones. My doctor called in my lab results this week, everything is fine, except I have to decrease the b-12.
I have got to start exercising so next week it's back to the gym faithfully.

02/21/2005 Week 13 194lbs loss: 5lbs

Feb 20, 2005

Today I found out that a very close friend of mine was killed in car accident. It makes you think about life and how precious it is too you. Her name was Tonya, she left behind a son who is 3 and a husband, her mother, father and younger sister Allison.
Well I am doing fine!!! The weight loss is sooooo slow, but I'm doing ok with that!! As long as it's coming off. I've been moving into a new apartment for the last couple of weeks so I haven't been working out. So actually next week I will back in a routine. Hopefully, it will pick up then. I still have not gotten sick from of the foods that I eat. But chicken makes my heart race, and carbs make me sleepy. So this week I will stay a way from carbs. But I have to eat chicken. I also need to buy some protein because I have run out!!!! The doctor told me to start taking iron. I've noticed that my cycles are heavier. I'm always cold so that didn't clue me in. So I'm on my way to "The Vitamin Shop". Hopefully I will have lost some next week.
