Six weeks out

Jan 27, 2010

Wow. Has it really been six weeks? I am 38 lbs. down from surgery and 72 lbs down from when I started my weight loss journey in June, 2009. Amazing feeling, for sure! Started to box up my really fat clothes. I think I may have a burning ceremony for them. Even though I have awesome results so far, I still am struggling to get all the water in. I purchased a new food diary from Amazon and am anxiously awaiting it. My surgeon's appt that was set for tues was cancelled due to the blizzard we had in Iowa monday. So, I see him Friday. Hope to hear good things and some advise from him. Hopefully I will be released to do cardio!!! This place is my saving grace. If I ever have a question or need to be uplifted...here is all of you wonderful people!! I dont think I could have done this alone!! Thank you OH!!!

3 weeks out

Jan 05, 2010

It's been three weeks, down 20 lbs. I've been working out every morning on my treadmill with my youngest daughter and she's been a true blessing for me. Keeps me going...I can't wait to do cardio!
I'm still working on listening to my stomach. Sometimes I'm not sure about how much I can eat, depends on the consistency of it I guess. But, all in all, I've been only eating things on the list my surgeon gave me. Protein in all things I eat, and the shakes. Water is harder. I try to get it all in, but there are days that I don't. I always have a water bottle beside me. My co-workers call it my hamster bottle.

first day home

Dec 19, 2009

Im really sore, have some pains.  I am nausous (sp)and when i breathe in deep, my insides are sore.  Protein shakes are ok, i make them like pudding, easier to get them down in less time. Still takes me 20 minutes to eat them. I am still in awe. I am still pretty excited!! Cant wait to drop the pounds!!!

surgery date set

Dec 09, 2009

I am finally getting the surgery!! Next thursday.... bypass. I  am excited and nervous and bouncing off the walls.... I am trying to get all the information I can sleep better. After watching the biggest loser finale last night and hearing that stupid doctor talk about 1 out of 10 surgery patients die.   I thought, what the hell??? So, I'm re-reading everything. I will not be stupid about this. I will not have any regrets. I will not be niave and think it will be a magic pill of sorts. There will be pain. I will have to put my big girl panties on....
