One week out
Jul 15, 2009
Well it's one week out. Finally, for the first time, I feel "normal" tonight. Like I can do this journey.
The hospital stay was rough, I needed a blood transfusion, home recovery difficult...but now I can drink lots of water and eat a little soup and it doesn't feel like such a struggle. Just have to remember to stay hydrated and take my supplements. Above all, right now. The protein shakes.... gonna work on varying them now that I'm sipping for some enjoyment. I really didn't care for taste or anything til today. It was all just a yucky feeling. Stomach is settling down now and I'm able to walk around, went to the dr. today, etc. Mornings are a struggle... I feel weak and my digestive track is just waking up so thats a big, uncomfortable effort! Afternoons get better, and evenings are the easiest. I went off my pain medication today so that is exciting! I can drive now! And I'm down 7 lbs. this week, so that too is good news!!
