Ok, im not good at talking about myself but here it goes.  Im a divorced 46 yr old mother of 2 young men and grandmother to a beautiful little girl(my little diva)...I've been overweight/obese all my life, i've tried diet after diet, excercise program after exercise program...some good results but then I gained back twice as much as I lost, very discouraging...I did try my own program 4 yrs ago and was very successful and lost 100 lbs, but got very sick with health problems and in the last 2 yrs, have gained back over 60 lbs, im tired of the up and down so I looked into the wls, although at first I was totally against it, I felt if I still had to watch what I ate and workout, why get cut, but I realize, yes, you can do the same thing but we all need a tool to keep it going, to help out so I decided to go ahead and do this..my friend had the GB last yr and she looks great, im too high risk for that so I opted for the lap band.  I have something called Lupus anticoagulant, which causes my blood to clot(thats one major reason why im too high risk)..anyway, before surgery, I have to have a filter inserted thru the main vein in the body that carries the blood thru the body and back to the heart, to ensure blood clots do not go to my heart or lungs.  This sounds scary to me, in fact, I have to go for the procedure today and my wls surgery is in 3 days.  Im a little tense about having 2 surgeries in one week but im trying to deal with it and not worry. Im actually looking forward to the lap band, I see it as the first day of the rest of my life!! I keep telling myself, when I get nervous, this time next week, it will all be over(the surgeries) and the beginning of a new me,  like a butterfly in a cocoon, ready to come out, a most beautiful butterfly!!  Well, it's about that time for me to go have this filter inserted, will keep everyone posted after my post op..thanx to everyone for their support!! this is a great site, wish I had found it sooner but glad I did find it eventually.
