I started this journey at 295 I had my surgery on Dec 30,2005 I am now at 159 my goal is 145 I am 5'9.
I decided to have the surgery a few years back but my husband was scared and he didnt really want me to have the surgery we discussed it and I decided I would do some more research and wait. Well in Sept 2005 my husband deployed to Iraq and I had already set the ball in motion for the surgery without him really knowing Well about 2 weeks after he deployed I got a letter saying I was approved and the date was scheduled a couple weeks later Dr Owens office called and reschheduled and that happened a few times before Finally my date had arrived I was very nervous to go through with it being that I had to go at it alone well not so much alone I had the help of friends but my husband was a bazillion miles away I almost backed out of it the morning of whille I was on the table when the Nurse came in to start my IV's but I knew I had to get the surgery to better my health. Well I made it through surgery with no complications I was able to recieve a phone call from Iraq I was so excited to hear from my hubby I am not to sure what all I said because I was pretty out of it but I do remember him telling me he was happy for me because he knew how much I wanted this he sad he wished he would have been there. Anyways enough Rambling I got sick alot at the beginning I couldnt eat anything and I had dry heaves constantly and a few months into it I got kidney stones they say it wasnt related but I think it is I have had them 3 times since surgery and never in my life before. I have had an awesome journey I am almost to goal and I dont regreat any steps I have taken Surgery is the best thing I could have ever done for myself
