Color Run!

I did it!  I completed a 5K!  I even ran part of it!  I couldn't believe it when I got to the final hill - I felt like I could do the whole thing again.  Probably could have - there were still several thousand people who hadn't started yet when I got to the finish. It was so much fun - can't wait until next year.  Hopefully it will be warmer, and maybe I'll be able to run the whole thing!

Frustrations

I have been going back and forth with the same 2 pounds for the past 3 weeks or so.  I was at 201.5, then dropped down to 199.6, then back up to 202, then back down to 199, and now I'm back up to 201.5.  I am really starting to get frustrated.  I know I shouldn't be so upset, but it's just so frustrating!  I really want to be below 200.  I get there for one day, and then the next day I'm back up again.  I am working hard on watching my calories and drinking water.  I've been working out every weekday.  I haven't been very good about keeping track lately, I probably need to be doing that again.  I just want results faster!  

Can't wait to do the Color Run on Saturday!  I got my "outfit" at Kohl's yesterday.  I didn't have a white shirt or pants that I wanted covered in color!  My girls were laughing at me.  I am wearing a long sleeved white shirt and white shorts, and then colorful checkered knee socks.  :)

So Close... and general ramblings

I am almost there - so close to being under 200 pounds!  I was at exactly 201 this morning!  I wish it was going faster, but I'm getting there...  I can't remember the last time I was in the 100s.  When I was in 10th grade I went to a psychologist to help lose weight, and I almost made it down to 200 but not quite when I stopped going.  So it has been longer than that.  I should see if I can get a copy of my medical records from middle school.   

My calcium alarm just went off.  :)  Had to set alarms on my cell phone so I didn't forget every day.

Shh - I'm eating while typing on the computer.  I know I shouldn't, but everyone else went home for lunch, so I am here by myself.  I suppose if I get going, I can actually get some work done.  But what would be the fun in that?    I'm having leftovers from last night - chicken, broccoli, and mushroom casserole, and boiled baby potatoes.  The casserole needs a little more seasoning, but the potatoes are good!  And from one of my surgery cook books, so they must not be too bad, even if they are potatoes.  (Starch, sugar, all that good stuff!)

I'm just going on about whatever right now.  Still going to bootcamp.  We have been working on arms this week.  My biceps and triceps are so sore!  My cheeks have been sore this week, too.  Too many squats!  I can tell I haven't been doing my strength workouts regularly.  But we do so many strengthening activities at bootcamp, I didn't think it was really necessary.  And I really don't have time in the morning after bootcamp.  And it's hard to go after school.  I know, excuses, excuses.  I'm hoping to start going to aerobics on Tuesday nights.  I'll take Brat to dance lessons and then go.  Should be perfect timing!  My foster daughter might be coming along, too.  We'll see if she actually makes it.

Only 3 1/2 weeks until the Color Run in Des Moines!  I am really looking forward to it!

Adventureland

Took my daughter, my foster daughter, my daughter's friend, and my mom to Adventureland yesterday.  I haven't been there for a couple of years.  I had the best time ever - even though it rained almost all day!  It was amazing!  I got on the rides, and I didn't have to struggle to get the seat belts buckled, or the safety bars down.  I didn't have to worry about not being able to ride the ride because I was to big - last time I was there, I almost had to get off of the Falling Star because the bar wouldn't go down all the way.  I went on everything I could (except the Inverter - just couldn't do that one!)   I was even OK with getting my picture taken - except I looked so OLD on the Tornado!  The only problem I had was getting enough protein and water.  That was a little difficult.  Fell short on both.

Back to school...

Well, here I am, back at school.  I just finished my lunch - steak tips with mushroom gravy and grapes.  Yum!  I've had about 30 oz. of water so far today.  I'm glad to be back in a schedule and on a routine.  Sitting at home gave me too many chances to graze, even when I wasn't hungry.  Might be one of the reasons I was stalled for 6 weeks!  

I was noticing today how good my arms look - at least from the top!  When you can't see the huge wings, they look pretty nice!  I also noticed my legs a few days ago.  I was doing leg lifts at bootcamp, and for a second I wasn't sure I was looking at my own legs!  And when I was putting on my workout pants this morning, I couldn't believe how small they were!  

I've been doing really well this week.  I've been trying to limit sugar (that's the bootcamp goal for the week).  As long as I stay away from protein bars, I'm able to do fine.  I really shouldn't eat those, anyway, but I really like them so much better than shakes!  Even if they don't have nearly the about of protein.  I'm only 6.4 pounds away from being in the 100s.  It's so fantastic!

I still haven't signed up for the Color Run in October.  I really want to do it, but I don't want to go on my own.  Tried to get a team together, but couldn't get enough people.

School clothes shopping

We went shopping yesterday.  Had a great time!  Went down another pants size - now at an 18!!  And I bought all my new shirts in the regular size area!  Hooray!!!  Can't wait for school to start so I can wear all my new clothes!  :)

Of course, then we had to go to the ER when my daughter slammed her finger in the car door.  She broke the tip of her finger and got 3 stitches.  That put a bit of a damper on the shopping trip.  She's feeling OK right now.  Lots of Tylenol and rest.

Went to the doctor to get my blood pressure checked - I've been feeling a bit dizzy lately.  It was 90/70.  So the doctor took me off my blood pressure meds!  Finally!  I've been hoping to get off of them for a while.  

Let's see - anything else going on?  Not really - been a pretty normal week.  Summer school Tuesday and Thursday.  I started using the cable weight machines on Wednesday.  Need to tone my arms - they look like chicken wings!  I've been wearing Spanx lately.  They make a big difference - the extra skin doesn't flap all over.  Wish they had something for arms.  :)

100!

 Yay!!! I'm down 100 pounds now!  Just in time for my birthday! :)    

It's been a busy month so far.  I started teaching summer school a few weeks ago, so my Tuesdays and Thursdays are full.  I went to babysit my nieces.  Spending a week with a 3 year old and a 5 month old sure takes a lot of energy!  But it was so much fun! 

Yesterday my mom came to visit for my birthday.  We went to see Brave - pretty good movie!  The only problem with visiting my mom is that she is big on food.  We went out for supper last night, and she kept pushing me to take more.  She made a huge breakfast this morning - pancakes, eggs, and sausage - and thought I would eat a whole stack of pancakes!  I know she wants me to be successful, but...

Not feeling well

I think I've got a virus or something.  Hopefully it's not something going wrong.  I've been feeling crampy and nauseous, haven't been able to eat much.  The thought of food just make me sick.   I'm going to see the doctor tomorrow.  The good part is, I've been losing a pound a day for about a week.  Only 5 pounds away from losing 100!

3 Months Out

Had my 12 week follow-up today.  Have a nice little bruise from the labs.  I'm officially down 87 pounds now!  I was hoping to be closer to 100 at this point, but I'll be happy with that!

I've been hungry lately.  I started adding more protein, and that has really helped.  But I've been pretty bad about snacking on sugary stuff - H's birthday cake being the biggest problem.  Which I know I shouldn't touch even before I look at it.  It makes my stomach hurt.  But it's cake, and I eat it anyway.  I also had a cookie yesterday.  But I'm resolved to get to 100 before my birthday.  That gives me a little over a month to lose those last 13 pounds.  So I am going to be much better about the unhealthy snacks.  

I'm a little worried about the end of the school year.  Being at home all day makes it tougher to stay on track.  I will have to plan lots of activities so I'm not at home with access to grazing.   

Been doing kettlebells every MWF at the fitness center.  Tuesdays and Thursdays have been on the treadmill in the morning and Tae Kwan Do in the evening.  There will be a new cardio class starting in June which I'm looking forward to.  I miss bootcamp.  Never thought I'd say that!
