My name is Amanda and I am morbidly obese. I have been this way since I was 9 years old. I was a relatively normal sized child, but I really started packing on the weight when my older brother died in 1996. He was my best friend and I didn't know what to do, so I turned to the easiest comfort a 7 year old could get....food. Food was my friend and a huge part of my life, food was especially helpful when I would come home from school after being teased at all day long. I am just sooooo tired of living this way. I am tired of people making their comments and staring! I am sick of trying on clothes and they don't fit or stores don't have what I want in my size! I am really tired of not being able to get up and do things with my friends, like go hiking in the woods. I'm all around just sick and tired of everything! I have tried to get approved for my surgery for almost a year now and finally God has seen fit to give me a second chance at life. I love my life and I'm ready to start living! As of today August 9th, 2009 I weigh in at 380lbs and I am 5'10''. That means I have a BMI of over 50! My miracle will take place September 15th, 2009 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville,TN. I am really glad I found this website and I look forward to future friends.
