Looking forward to three year anniversary
Feb 03, 2014
Wow !!! It's almost my three year anniversary !!! I fell great and I'm starting to see muscles that I never knew I had. I need another surgery, not related to my VSG. But I'm hoping to be 7 to 10 lbs lighter after they remove all the fibroids. Gotta think positive.
I'm also looking for walking buddies this summer. If you live in CT Thomaston area and are interested hit me up. peace!!!
ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY
Oct 12, 2012
WOW!! IT'S BEEN ONE YEAR SINCE MY SURGERY!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT. THIS WAS BY FAR THE BEST DECISION THAT I HAVE EVER MADE. I FEEL GREAT AND HAVE ENERGY TO BURN. NOW MY FOCUS WILL BE MUSCLE TONING AND STRENGTH TRAINING TO GET THE LAST 30LBS OFF. FOOD HAS NOT REALLY BEEN AN ISSUE FOR ME. I WAS AFRAID THAT MY OLD EATING HABITS MIGHT COME BACK, IF I WANT SOMETHING I WILL HAVE A FEW BITES OF IT AND THAT IS ALL!! ONE THING THAT I HAVE LEARNED IS THAT GUESS WHAT? YOUR FAVORITE FOODS WILL NEVER GO AWAY SO DON'T FEEL LIKE YOU NEED TO EAT EVERYTHING NOW. AND STAY ACTIVE THAT WAY YOU DON'T HAVE TIME TO SIT AROUND THINKING ABOUT FOOD ALL DAY.
BLESSED IT BE!!

Two weeks out
Oct 24, 2011
I can't believe it. I've been working out on the treadmill everyday for 10 minutes twice a day. And yesterday I started doing a step routine using my treadmill as the step. That will do until my boyfriend builds me a step to workout on. LOL. However, I must admit that I am getting tried of protein shakes. But I have found some pretty awesome tasting recipes. I especially love adding fresh fruit juices to them. I can't wait to get to the pureed meats. Think I will stick with tuna, chicken and turkey on that stage. Beef must be enjoyed and savored whole, anything else would be just sinful in my book.
Until next time,
Blessed it be

Day After Surgery
Oct 11, 2011
Well, I made it through the first day after surgery !!! The pain was not too bad. I only needed a few doses of morphine, now just Tylenol. St. Mary's is a great hospital. They take every precaution to prevent blood clots. I have to wear ted hose, SCD's, which messages your legs and I get Lovenox injections, which is a blood thinner. I have not had anything to eat or drink since Monday night. I am not hungry at all, but can't wait to have my swallow test done. It contains a dye then they x-ray my stomach to make sure that there is no leakage from my new stomach. THEN, I can have water and if that goes well I can have clear liquids like broth. Woohoo. They get you out of bed a few hours after the surgery and get you walking. Which is a good thing because is gets the gas moving. They use gas to inflate your stomach during the surgery so they can see what they are doing. They try to get as much out as possible but can't get it all. And gas pills won't help because the gas is inside your abdominal cavity, not inside your stomach and intestines. Let me tell you I have never been sooo happy to fart this morning. No matter where you are, if you need to fart let it out !!! LOL
I have more photos to upload when I get home, which should be Friday.
Weight Loss Journey
Oct 10, 2011
I feel so blessed with having the opportunity to have this surgery. I see it as a second chance on life. A healthier and more active life. I've tried many diets and have always regained some if not all of my weight back. I honestly and truly believe that this is just the tool I need to help me succeed and finally win this battle. It is time for the fat to go ! I want my body back damnit, and I will !!
And I realize that it begins with being honest with myself. So I started a weigh loss photo album to track my progress. And let me tell you, it was not easy posting that first pic. Where the hell did my waist line go?!! I can't wait to see it and my belly button. LOL. I'm scared about the loose skin that I may or may not have. Because I really don't know how much I will have. So I look at it like this, loose skin is a heck of a lot better than being obese. I hoping that I will be among the lucky people who no longer need high blood pressure and cholesterol medications anymore. Oh, and no more aches and pains, sore back and knees. Yep, I would trade all of that for loose skin any day. Well, I will see you tomorrow after I wake up.
Blessed it be.
