So, after being on a waiting list for gastric Bypass for almost 22 months, I finally got the call that I had been longing for :) It was the call for my very first appointment, or my consultation. That appointment was scheduled about 6 weeks out and let me tell you, those 6 weeks DRUG by so very slowly. I remember going to my first appointment and meeting some very great girls that were in the same boat as I was. They were all heavy and unhealthy and very unhappy. We talked amongst ourselves for several minutes before the nurse came in and basically warned us that this wasn't going to be easy.... I had already had 2 C Sections and raised my 2 children... who were 6 years old and 1 1/2 years old at the time. I thought, "Whatever, I'm super woman I can do anything and I am not going to let this get me down!" Well, to make a very lonoonnggg and glorious story short, I was wrong about that.

After meeting with my nutrition coach and seeing a phychologist, I was "ready." Or was I.....

My surgey date came nearly 7 weeks after my first consultation. My surgery was approved by Colorado Medicaid on the first try... thank god, and I was ready to go....

I travled from Denver to Ft Collins for my surgery and of corse all follow up, which is about 80 miles away, just an FYI.

The night before the surgery we stayed in a hotel in Ft Collins becuase we had to arrive at Poudre Valley Hospital at 5:30am.
Tht night before the surgery I ate a TON! I had ice cream, a huge Qdoba burrito, 2 HUGE brownies and a LARGE diet Coke! My doctor NEVER made me fast for a month or go on a liquid diet or any of that. he said that was bogus and it was un necessary. Soooo I ate up like no other and I enjoyed every minute of it. :)

To be continued when I have a little more time....... :)
