6 weeks post op stats

Jul 26, 2011

Hello everyone!! Yesterday was my 6 weeks post op mark! I am feeling fantastic! This sleeve was the best thing I've ever done! I have lost 29.6 lbs since I started my pre op diet, 21.4 lbs since my surgery, and 25.25 inches all over! That's over 2 feet of me! GONE! My mind is boggled by that thought! It's crazy! I started doing Zumba with my MIL and it is so much fun! I really enjoy doing it, so I definitely think I'll keep up with it! Still haven't had any issues with anything. I'm able to get in my protein and fluids. A typical food day for me goes like this:

Breakfast: either 8 oz. 1% milk protein shake or about 3 oz. cottage cheese with 1/4 cup Kashi Go Lean high protein cereal mixed in (this stuff is greatness!)

Lunch: either left overs from the night before, 2 slices of Boar's Head turkey with some shredded cheese, or 3 veggie nuggets with greek yogurt dipping sauce

Snack: when I get home from work I usually will have a piece of string cheese

Supper: either the lunch meat and cheese mixture, veggie nuggets, some type of grilled meat, tuna salad, or if I'm in a hurry a Pure Protein bar

and if I am low on protein for the day, I'll make some protein ice cream for dessert! I also am loving beef jerkey recently, so that is definitely a go-to snack for me! Tons of protein!

I am definitely getting to the point where I really need to buy some new clothes! HAHA today at work my boss told me it was time for some new pants because mine are falling off of me. And he's absolutely right! I may go on a little shopping spree this weekend! Expect pictures! LOL

WOOHOO 3 weeks post op today!! I had my first stall at about a week and a half out and my scale didn't move for 10 days, but I just kept doing what I was doing and the pounds started fall off again!

So far I have lost:
20.2 pounds since my pre op diet began on 6/3/11 (not including water weight that i gained while in the hospital)
and 16.75 inches all over!!

I am so thankful that I haven't had any problems at all! Right now I can eat about 2 oz of mushie/soft food at once. I am able to get in all of my fluids and protein everyday!
I love my sleeve and my new life!!

My day in pictures

Jun 24, 2011

Well today has been pretty interesting!! First of all, I've been having some pinching pains in the middle of my abdomen for the past couple days and today my surgeon told me that it's a strained muscle. Guess I started going too soon after surgery. Sounds like me lol can't just sit and heal! So I came home and found two packages waiting on my door step! One from Amazon with my second Camelbak watter bottle (loooooove!) and the other from Netrition with my PB2, fiber sprinkles, sugar free maple syrup, and low carb pancake mix! So excited to try everything out! After I checked everything out, I took a muscle relaxer, ate some lobster bisque soup, and about 10 minutes later I felt AWFUL! I don't exactly know why, but after I ate I had this awful lump in my throat and my stomach was hurting soooo bad! I went into the bathroom and I didn't know if I needed to shit or throw up! HAHA I was sweating horribly! I ended up taking off all of my clothes and just laying on the bathroom floor for like 20 minutes until the miserable feeling went away! HAHA so then I went out to shop for something to wear to a wedding tomorrow that my boyfriend is the best man in! I tried on a bunch of dresses (even fit into a 14!! wooo) and ended up buying my first dress ever!!

and I also bought these shoes to wear with it!

I am extremely impulsive when it comes to shopping HAHA so I also ended up buying some new black flats to wear to work since the ones I wear now are so old that the insole is completely detached! HAHA

I've had this same teal purse for probably about a year and a half now, and although I love all it's compartments and everything else about it, it was time for a replacement...

Say "hello!" to Nine West!! sooooo prettttttty! HAHA apparently this surgery has brought out my inner girliness because I have never been into shoes and purses!

I also bought this adorable 20 oz coffee mug!

And speaking of my dog, meet my sweet baby girl Jersey!!

Don't you just wanna squeeze her face?? I know I do! HAHA

And to finalize my shopping trip, I found these awesome tupperware type bowls with measurements on them and removeable ice packs!! Can't wait to try them out!!

So all in all, I'd say it's been a pretty fantastic day! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

Recipe: Simple pizza soup

Jun 20, 2011

I had originally planned to put pepperoni in this, but didn't realize mine had gone bad!

1/2 cup pasta sauce (i used Naturally Preferred roasted garlic organic sauce bought from Kroger)
1/4 cup lowfat ricotta cheese
1 string cheese stick
1 oz. mushrooms
you could add the pepperoni in addition to this. i did the ricotta cheese as a replacement since they have the same amount of protein

T
hrow all ingredients into a pot and let heat through. Blend with immersion blender. VOILA!
This is 15g of protein for 1/2 cup. If you were to add the pepperoni also, it would be 20g!! Simple and delicious!
Enjoy!!
