Hello, my name is Monica. I'm 25 years old and was born and raised on Long Island New York and now live in Miami Florida. I have a wonderful fiance and an amazing 6 yr old daughter. I had been overweight for much of my youth, I went down in weight right before my daughter was born and I was at a very good weight my lowest weight was 142! At 5'2" I was happy there. But soon after I was back up and my heaviest weight so far is 278. I have a family history of obesity my younger brother is obese an my father and mother are obese. We also have a history of diabetes and high blood pressure along with cholesterola and all the side effects that come along with all that bad stuff. When I moved to Florida I heard about Gastric Bypass and I thought about it, wow that sounds amazing and great. But I didnt do it until my best friend had it done about 10 months ago now and she is doing great 140lbs down in 10 months. So i started my journey around September 2009 and you can read my blogs to hear my story which is a little rocky right now. Hopefully it will go better along the road. But I am an optimistic person and I will keep my hopes up and I have faith in God and in my Dr. that he will make everything better. I look at people's befor and after pictures for inspiration and I just hope for a healthy thin future to spend with my amazing fiance and my daughter and the new children that we hope to have after our wedding that we are planning for April 2011.
