Approved for Surgery but Lost Insurance

I have been depressed and eating too much.  I was finally approved for surgery but I don't have a job.  I don't have a job because of an evil woman who didn't care anything about my life or the economy when she decided to give me the boot even when she didn't have to and I was doing a great job.  That doesn't matter now.  Now I need to get back on track and start losing weight again because when i do find a job I want to be ready to have my surgery right away.  Does anyone recommend anything over the counter?
