Hi, my name is Theresa and I am a 42 year old disabled nurse. I have struggled with weight issues since my teens, always gaining back more than I lost. I have a genetic chronic kidney disease that causes me to have severely high blood pressure. I have had multiple kidney surgeries but still have htn, even though I take seven medications for HTN and over 20 pills a day. I also suffer from DJD in my back and knees, severe sleep apnea, depression, anxiety, elevated cholesterol and have had several TIA,s. Recently my blood pressure has become so uncontrolled that I am on modified bed rest. I am not permitted to exercise due to my risk of stroke. I have been working on my surgery requirements and have a surgery date for the end of July. I am here for advice, support and motivation. I am ready for my surgery, but nervous about what to expect. Any advice, tips or just your stories are welcomed and appreciated.
