Hi TJ: Your experience is so similar to mine. The first couple of days after surgery, I complained that my vision was blurry. That cleared up a little, but I now need reading glasses and my vision is still slightly blurry. I've also taken celexa prior to surgery. I was taking 20 mg. It takes about 2 weeks and you'll notice a generally good feeling about yourself. I wouldn't say that you'll be bouncing and skipping, but you'll feel less anxious. You'll also not dwell on anything for too long....you'll be pretty easy going. My husband said I snapped less at him (poor guy). Don't worry about taking celexa....if it helps even you out and allow you to not dwell on problems, then that's wonderful! I wish you continued success on your weight loss. Your picture with your daughter is beautiful. You look just like her!!

Today I went for a check up with my PCP. He is so nice and really cares about his patients. As far as recovering from my surgery, I'm doing pretty good but just haven't been very "happy" lately and couldn't figure out why as I'm not one to get depressed and such but my PCP says that I'm having some problems adjusting to the eye problems (complication from surgery).I have been very emotional and just not interested in things that I used to be very passionate about. He gave me some samples of Celexa 20mg (1/2 Tab. for 3 days then 1 Tab. at bedtime) to try for the next 4 weeks. Is anyone here taking or has taken this drug and if so what has been your experienc? Please pray for me. It's really hard not being able to drive and having to depend on others to go anywhere (I had surgery so I would not have to depend on others all the time) or read as much as I would like. I've always been a reader...my DH says he needs to bulid a library onto the house...LOL. I was looking forward to going back to school and being able to work again. I know things will get better...I WANT IT NOW!!! LOL.

Hi...I went for my post-op visit on mOnday 5/7 and I have lost 49 lbs. Incisions are ok. I am now starting to wear some size 24 down from a size 32/34W. My back doesn't hurt much at all these days. Tomorrow I'm going to buy a dress for my daughter's wedding on June 2. I really hated to wait so late but I didn't know what size I would be. I plan to try the consignment shops. If anyone has a size 24/26 formal you would loan or sell (and could get it to me within the next week) please email me at ziff_@ webtv.net (no spaces).Thanks. I really don't want to buy a new one knowing I will only be able to wear it one time :).

UPDATE...My DS surgery was on 2/16/01. I am doing pretty good and have lost 40lbs (on my scales). Of course I have had to make adjustments like we all do but overall life is good. I finally had a whopper Jr. and 3-4 fries Friday. I had been wanting one for a few weeks. It was soooo good (although it took me about 30 mintues to eat it...LOL) I'm still not eating dairy but hope to be able to do so soon. I'll update more later.
