Brian Way

"Dr. Way is young, but I don't hold it against him <LOL>. He is an excellent doctor who listens when you talk, answers questions thoroughly, and remembers you from the last time. Isn't it a sad comment that I should consider these three things to be unusual? But in my past experience with doctors, it IS unusual."

John Husted

"The entire staff at the Cumberland Center for Obesity Surgery are very special people. Dr. Anderson is the doctor who actually did my surgery but he has since retired. Dr. Spaw assisted him and he is now my follow up surgeon. Follow up is extremely important to Dr. Husted and his staff because they do not want to solve one set of health problems only to substitute a different set because of malnutrition or other things. I had a long list of health problems that have all been solved by my surgery. I agreed with Dr. Anderson that the duodenal switch was the best choce of sugery for me because it leaves me with an eating plan that I can live with. I was one of the people who had absolutely no problems at all with the surgery. Thank God! The only real pain I felt in the hospital was in my back from laying in bed too much. It is hard to put into words just how caring and supportive everyone in this practice is. They made it clear to me that there were risks in having the surgery and just what those risks were. In my case the biggest risks were with my breathing because the fat was restricting my lung capacity so much. But they also made clear the risks I faced by NOT having the surgery. I was very worried about having the port inserted and the IV's and so forth because my veins are extremely difficult. But even that went smoothly. It says on this page that 100% positive reviews are generally less informative, but I honestly can't think of a single negative thing to say! I'm trying to remember if there was any time when I was dissatisfied with the doctor, the nurses, the office staff, the information they gave me.......and the answer is no!"
