I am a 29 year old wife and mother of 2 beautiful boys. My family is my pride and joy and motivation in life.
I have been fighting my weight since graduating high school 10 years ago. I was only 105 pounds then!
I too have tried most diets out there, I still prefer to say "the diet failed me", maybe trying to stay positive. I KNOW that this new tool will not fail me. I am NOT going to sit by and watch my children grow up, I will be right there by their side, enjoying all that life has to offer! Dr. Todd and Squad are helping me achieve this, along with the support of family and friends. There are certain things I miss- 1-Fitting under water in the bathtub, 2- chasing my dog or kids without being exhausted 3- feeling pretty in the mirror- I feel I don't recognize myself anymore. There are many other things too, but those are the big ones.
My journey began after a good friend went through with WLS, I was there through all of it with her. It was NOT easy.
My first appointment/orientation was mid December, and as of Jan. 27th we were ready to submit for insurance approval. I hope the rest of the journey goes smoothly, and I can begin my life anew!!

30-Jan-submitted for my insurance approval Friday 27th- and we got the approval today! Now to get that surgery date scheduled!! I guess this is where my real journey begins! (This is really going to happen)
31-Jan- Got a date! February 28th! My new life is getting closer.

13-Feb- been dealing with my baby being in ICU for over a week, he is much better now! I started my 2 week pre-op diet today. Sure feels like there aren't many food options, meat and eggs. :-) I can't believe I am only 2 weeks out. I have my final H&P wednesday!

16-Feb- Flew out to Anchorage yesterday for my Final H&P. Was in and out quick. All is a go from here. Have the hotel and rental car booked. Now I just need to worry about making sure I pack everything I will need- not to mention my 2 boys. I am excited, but now the nerves are starting.

24-Feb- Here in Anchorage again, had my final appt. with the nurse today. Feeling scared now, but sure of what I am about to do. Ran into a few post-ops today at the commisarry, they looked great! That helps. I will update again after the big day! 256 starting weight

03-MAR-- I AM A LOOSER!!! Had my surgery Tuesday 28th, late evening! I did great, and am really feeling pretty good considering what my body just went through. There were some things no one mentions, but otherwise all went as I expected! I was up walking just a few hours after surgery. I have already taken the kids to Chuck -E-Cheese and swimming. Not me in the pool, but it was fun watching. More updates to come.

15-Mar-- today I turned 29. My birthday present was the surgery. I am doing pretty good, but the baby isn't. Not a lot of time to focus on myself, other than PROTEIN and water!

30-MAR- Baby is back in ICU, been 1 week already. Still losing, but being 200 miles from town makes it hard to worry about me.

April- I had been SO sick, and lasted 2 weeks, then returned to anchorage and found out I had a stricture. Hospitalized and dilated, then went home after 3 days in the hospital.

May- losing well. will update later about the pounds lost. I did have to go get dilated again, hopefully I wont need it 3-4 times, as I will be out of town! Been running, and swimming. Going on Vacation in a few weeks! LAS VEGAS!!

July- Down 98 pounds so far, and have been walking and working out swimming, hiking, skiing, wakeboarding and such! Baby is doing well, had a bout of pneumonia, still waiting for them to say he is well enough for the leukemia and lymphoma testing. I KNOW he will be fine. Hubby has been deployed since May, we sure miss him, but he will be home the end of August, boy is he in for a surprise!!

September- doing great, having a few issues with my knees and hips, and my GP says it is from overuse.. too much hiking and running? Still having a blast, the hubby was so happy!

November - I am now 8 months out. Doing great, so much energy!
Hips are really hurting after working out, but I am now swimming more too. I am actually working PT as a lifeguard! Fun for me. I am down to 135, 10 pounds from goal!!! I have been working hard, and trying to make sure I continue to make the right choices, it is getting so cold, I got a used treadmill to run while my 1 year old sleeps! I would never change this life decision.
November 28- I am now 9 months out- I am at goal! Feeling great. Getting ready for a big move, will find out where we are headed in 2-4 weeks... I am lifeguarding still, and running on that treadmill. It's too cold to run ourside, I will break my butt!
December- 9 months out, and at goal!! I am 40 below my surgeons goal. I am so excited, now it is time to start thinking of that tummy tuck.. Have some female issues to deal with first, but thats all good.  ALSO we got our orders this week, and we will be moving to the sunny Island of Oahu!! I am sooo excited
My brother is telling people I look anorexic, I feel bad about that. I still feel like I look heavy... that whole self image thing...
Update:   My PCP is putting in my referral to a PS!
