Yippy!!! Surgery is done...now here starts the rest of my life

OK so it has been a minute and I have not updated.  I did have my Surgery on 9/8/2010. I arrived at the hospital @545 that morning, did all the check in and everything. Last thing I remember was being on the stretcher for preop. Then I remember coming from under.  Woke up in recovery... there were no complications,ended up going thru my belly button.  So I have 6 smalls insisons on me.  Which I was told will fade to next to nothing. It was torture not to have anything to drink for the 1st 24 hours. Except for something to wet my mouth.  Went to do a swallow study the next day, they did find some swelling by the stiching soooo...NPO for another day!!   So instead of leaving that Friday, I did not leave until Saturday. Because they will not let you leave until you have, at least had some solid substance.
I stayed with my parents for a week. I realize a hard head makes an soft tail. Tried moving around too fast and all. But it was a lesson learn it is all good now.
I admit it has been a very trying time these last couple of weeks, of figuring out which soft/puree foods to eat. Trying to make sure I stay hydrated and get at least 64oz of fluid down a day.  I admit you can tell when you are full so there will be no trying there.  So far everything has been good, no dumping!  But keeping yourself incheck not to eat what everyone is eating is hard. But it can be done.  I will be so glad when my 4weeks of puree'/soft foods is over.
