Starting Pre-Op Classes Jan 20th!

  Well I finally got into the clinic and I start pre-op classes on Jan 20th. The nurse I spoke to said the the surgery date would be sometime in Late march early april. Thats not really that much time to wait. I am so excited I could almost burst. My husband on my way home from my appointment let me know that he was not to thrilled about me having surgery. He is a person who is queesy about stuff like that. I think he feels since its elective that its not the same as if I needed my tonsils out or something. I still don't think he has any idea how important it is for me. My mom died of Diabetes related problems at 52 yrs old and my dad has had a leg removed from diabetes. Now I have it and can't quite get a handle on it. We are going to have a heart to heart about it, when I can find a moment that I don't mind having a crying jag cause when I talk about my mom I get upset. My mom raised me alone and it was hard for her, she was one of my best friends and even though its been 6yrs I still miss her everyday. I don't think he really understand diabetes and the risk for me. I have never been thin my whole life except a few times. If I can get the weight off the diabetes should go away my doctors think. So Its not a vanity thing. Well maybe a little, but a life thing. My friend had surgery 3wks ago and is doing great, This has helped him not feel so worried. She has not had any issues so far. Thank god.
