This is the second time for me. I had a gastoplasty in 1984. I beat myself up for years for blowing it. Then in researching this surgery, I find it has a 90% failure rate. I'm excited and scared. I hope the reversal is as uncomplicated as my doctor thinks.
Now it's been almost two years since my surgery. Things have really changed. I've gone from 294 to 140. Friends I haven't seen in the past couple of years don't recognize me anymore. I thank God for the opportunity to have this surgery again and I'm trying my best to keep myself on the right road.
8/2004 - It's been three years this month. I've found my body was constantly changing. The old demons that caused me to overeat in the first place returned. I always remember my surgery was a tool to help me loose weight. It seemed like no matter what I did, the pounds fell off. Now, I have to pay attention to what I'm eating to keep those pounds off. I gain a few pounds here and there. When I do, I get back on my protien drinks and take them right back off.
10 YEARS!!! WOOO HOOO!!!!
