About 8 years ago I made some major life changes. I ended a 10 year relationship, started a new one (and eventually got married!), changed jobs and moved to a different city. The result of all that was an additional 100 pounds to my body. Along with the change in relationships came a change in activities and habits, some not for the better, although I am a much happier person now then I was before all that happened. I tried the WW plan and did lose weight, only to get tired of counting points and gain it all back again! I am going to be 44 next month and have decided that I don't want to spend the rest of my years going up and down the scale like some rollercoaster ride. So I started looking into WLS surgery as a permanent solution to my problem. I have an aunt and a cousin that have both had WLS surgery, one a lapband, the latter gastric bypass. I was going to go with the lapband based on conversations with both of these women and the results/issues they have each had with their respective surgeries. However, when I went to the orientstion class I met a woman who told me about the gastric sleeve. After much research I beleive this is the route that I have decided to take, so if anyone has had this surgery, please let me know what your results/thoughts are on it.
Thanks,
