Hello Heather! I know the decision to have surgery is not for everyone. My best advice is to research all you can and make the decision that is right for you in your heart. This is a life time change and although it's not easy, it's VERY DO-ABLE!! I'm 5 years + post op and don't regret any minute. I've had a baby since surgery and I'm back on the losing track since gaining weight with the pregnancy. It's definately not brain surgery, but it's an excellent tool to help get the weight off. I still have to deal with my "fat brain", but I'm moving forward. You are in the most excellent hands with Dr. Kam and the entire Barix team! Also, if you would like to join an online support group just for Barix patients, email me and I can give you the info! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email me. Last month I celebrated my 5 year WLS anniversary. I haven't regretted one minute! Hugs and blessings from your MI WLS Sister!
