Well, I have had weight problems for as long as I can remember, and by the time my second born, Rosie, was 5 (in 2005,) I was up to 291lbs. Needless to say, I was miserable- clothes never fit right, I hated looking at photos of myself, and I didn't feel confident at all.

In Dec, 2005, a coworker came into the office and announced that she was approved for 'Roux en Y' gastric bypass, and that she was going in for surgery sometime in January. Several other coworkers had already had it done and were pleased with the results, so I spoke to my doctor about seeing a specialist. According to body charts, I should have been somewhere around 160 lbs, so I was definitely a candidate for WLS. To make a long story short, I first saw Dr. Dahiya in January 2006 and had surgery on March 6th.

Recovery was no fun, so I won't lie and say it wasn't difficult at first, but here I am- I weigh 169lbs, wear an 8 in jeans, down from a 20, and feel really good. I still do dump every once in a while if I eat something I shouldn't , and will stress to everyone the importance of vitamin intake.

I found this site while searching the web regarding WLS and pregnancy. In September of 2006, I became pregnant with our third little guy- Lochlan! I had no idea how fertile we post ops are, and it was a scary experience- we were so worried about his health! There was a great support group here and when he was born 4-4-07, a little early, but doing GREAT now, I sadly drifted away from the girls online.

So there's my condensed story  I am married to my high school sweetheart, who is the man of my dreams, and have three children. Chelsie, 12, Rosie, 9, and Lochy, 3. I live in beautiful SW Washington state and manage a large business up here.
