Update: Well, it's been almost 8!!! years since my VSG, and I'm loving it.  I'm at goal, happy, healthy :)  I had a torsoplasty and BL in late 2017, with Dr Fasching in MN, and it turned out great :)

----------------------------------------

I have been overweight almost my entire life (since age 7 or so?).  I have tried many types of diets, along with counseling and a dietitian.  Every time I've lost weight, I've gained it back.  When I am not on the dieting cycle, my weight continues to go up. My BMI has been hovering around 40-45 for years.  I don't have a lot of health problems normally associated with a very high BMI.  What I do have: slightly high cholesterol, a back that is sometimes sore, some knee pain, acid reflux, heart burn, and the beginning stage of developing a fatty liver.  I've also had gallbladder problems, and have had it removed.  I am looking into wls because I want to improve my chances of having a long life.  I do not want to develop any more health problems due to my weight.  I want to more easily do active things, like running and biking.  I want to travel without worrying about fitting comfortably in a plane seat.  I want to attend the theater and sporting events without feeling crammed into a seat.
