Guess I have to blame puberty for my weight because have have photos when I was younger and looked a normal weight. My heaviest weight was 385 when I was diagnosed with diabetes in 2002. I have tried so many diets. Mainstream ones like Weight Watchers and Nutrisystem multiple times. Made up quite a few as well. Even took weight loss drugs and lost 60 lb. in a year. All to gain it back and more. I have really tried this past year to lose the weight but my diabeties drugs increase my water retention so I don't loss weight but have lost some inches.
I have started the process for RNY surgery and will be turning in my paperwork for insurance approval. I am so scared about this surgery and yet it seems the best option at this time. My family and friends are against it but I can't fight anymore. I am turning 55 this year and don't want to have complcation from diabetes or end up in a nursing home.
This sounds so depressing, doesn't it. But I am looking forward to a new life after surgery. Especially after hearing some of the WOW moment people have had.
