60-year-old grandmother seeks new life

I have never blogged in my life and have no idea what I am doing, but here goes. My name is Vickie and I am currently going through the nutrition classes prior to gastric bypass surgery. I expect my surgery will be around November. I have been overweight since I was 8 years old and weighed about 180 when I graduated high school. After marrying and having children I went back to school, became an LVN and then got a BS in business management. I have been considering this surgery for years but there was always a reason to put it off. I have arthritis which restricts mobility but am hoping that losing weight will help that. I need information and some good friends to help me get through this.
