My journey began in 6-11 sitting in my work cubicle discussing weight loss with my co-workers. One of my co-workers had previously had an RNY and she suggested that I should just go for it and stop talking about it. At that moment I really began considering weight loss surgery, I had always been so opposed to it due to possible complications. I got home that night and began really researching a good doc in the DFW area. Once I found my surgeon I attended his seminar on 7-12-11 and after that was I sold on the VSG. I completed all my prerequisites for surgery and info was submitted to insurance company on 10-31-11 and I was approved on 11-18-11. I had my 1:1 consultation with my surgeon on 12-2-11 and decided to have my surgery after the holiday so we settled on 1-23-12. Thus far it has been one of the best things I have ever done, my family and friends have been very supportive. It's hard to beleive that I am on the path to successful weight loss I am stoked!
