Hi, I'm Aimee from Baton Rouge, LA. I had Lap Band surgery 06/07/06 and for the first 6 months, I was a losing machine! Things slowed down quite a bit after that, and I lost only another 15 lbs over the next 2 years, for a total of 75 lbs. I started looking into the Gastric Sleeve surgery because of the extraordinary amount of acid reflux I've been experiencing over the last 6 months. I haven't been able to sleep laying down at all! With my band, I either have no fill at all, and therefore am able to eat anything and everything, or I have a slight fill and can't swallow at all. It's almost as if my band has lost the ability to be sensitive to the fill amount - it's all or nothing.
I am scheduled for VSG revision surgery with Dr. Drake Bellanger at Woman's Hospital on 11/24/08 and I am excited and fearful of "going under" again. I have a beautiful 7 year old daughter and an incredible husband that I want to be around for, so let the rest of my life begin!
