Michelle, you most certainly DO belong here with us. No shame in having a panic attack...I believe all things happen for a reason. I'm sure when you are rescheduled and are truly ready for this major life changing surgery, it will be the right time for you and it will happen just as you plan. Please continue posting here, your story is important of other preops to hear. This is scary, scary stuff for so many and you are showing so much courage in sharing your experience. God bless and thanks.

Dear Michelle~~~I am so sorry that you had such a rough time. Paradoxical reactions to medications are wicked. I had much the same problem with intravenous Valium; I never was so anxious in my life. I hope that you will be able to reschedule soon. Speak with your surgeon and the anesthesiologist; they should be able to come up with a plan to help you preoperatively. I wish you the very best and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Be well. Lorraine

You're gonna feel like a million bucks in a couple months. Had my surgery in November, also at Alvarado, and there's nothing to compare with the feeling... You'll do fine and we're all here to answer any questions, so let us know how you are when you "get out". Deena

Best wishes from another southern CA girl - Glendale to be exact. I had Dr. Ellner 10 months ago and couldn't be more pleased. I've lost 140 lbs. in 10 months and never a complication or complaint. You can look forward to this kind of success too. Keep a happy attitude and a positive outlook. You'll be just fine. Susan

I am wishing you a safe and complication-free surgery and a quick recovery. Congrats on this courageous beginning of your new life. I had my open RNY on Dec. 10, 2001 and am so glad I did. Its the best thing I could have done for myself.
