"I was very impressed by the WISH Center in Renton, WA and the overall program that they offer.
The first consult was a 5 hour program that included a basic slideshow video explanation of the procedure, a consult with a nutritionist, an exercise physiologist, a pschycologist, the insurance person and the surgeon. Dr. Alperovich was very good in his explanation of the procedure and able to dispell any early qualms I had, but being certain that I realized that this was just a tool and not a cure.
The second appointment (pre-op) was the same format, with a much more in-depth slideshow video of the specific procedure and explanation of all of the risks involved. We spent more time with Dr. Alperovich at this appointment and I must say, was even more impressed by him and his staff. He was very relaxed, which helped with my nerves, and very reassuring.
The WISH Center does charge a fee for their support, $1,945, which is not covered by medical insurance and is a mandatory fee. It provides for all of the support, including meetings and on-line meetings after surgery. All things considered, I think this fee will prove to pay for itself over time.
