I guess I can start by saying that my mother put me on my first diet when I was 12 years old! How many of you remember Shackley??? Fast forward about 30 years.....I have been on and off most every diet known to man. I work at a hospital where the insurance DOES NOT cover WLS, nor does it cover any expense at any hospital besides their own. Needless to say, there are no weight loss surgeons at our hospital nor in the state of Oklahoma, so I thought WLS was completely out of the question for me.
I heard the WeightWise commercial on the radio on my way to work one morning in January announcing a seminar the next evening and I went home and told my husband I was going. My best friend & I had been toying with the idea of going to Mexico to have lap band surgery, but after the seminar I knew the lap band was not the route I wanted to take. Two weeks later I took my best friend to a seminar and the rest is history...we both decided that we were going to have the surgery and go on this journey together. I'm so glad we did. I lost 20# on the pre op diet and 30 more in the 6 weeks following surgery. We are really doing this!...and boy are we glad we did!
My husband took me out this past weekend and bought me some new jeans...They are 6 sizes smaller than the jeans I was wearing before surgery!!!!! I never thought I'd be in "normal" sizes again, but I am and it feels GREAT!
